The 2^nd Gold Coast Medical Imaging Conference, Queensland, Australia

The Conference was organized by the Academic Board of the Queensland Radiology Education Foundation and the Australian and New Zealand Society of Neuroradiology. It was held at the Royal Pines Resort at the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, from 2^nd to 6^th August 2000. The Conference offered a comprehensive coverage of cross-sectional imaging, with emphasis on recent advances and practical applications in MRI and CT.

Papers were presented by an extremely distinguished faculty, which included prominent members, such as Professor Michael Sage of Flinders University, Australia, Professor A. James Barkovich of the University of California, San Francisco, CA, and Professor S. Mukherji of the University of North Carolina, NC, U.S.A.

There were 6 delegates from Hong Kong. Apart from being able to benefit academically from the Conference, we were able to make valuable contacts with overseas colleagues.  We also had the opportunity to meet with old friends who are now working in Australia, like Dr. John Chan, Dr. Albert Lam and Dr. Mark Soo. The Conference was a truly educational, enjoyable and memorable experience.
